Oknoplast: A Polish Powerhouse Forging Europe’s Window Industry

Founded in the historic city of Kraków in 1994, Oknoplast has grown from a local Polish enterprise into a dominant force in the European window and door industry. For over 30 years, the company has been at the forefront of innovation, quality, and design, setting new standards and consistently pushing the boundaries of what is possible in PVC and aluminum joinery. Today, the OKNOPLAST GROUP is an international powerhouse, recognized as one of the top manufacturers in Europe, with a formidable presence in 21 countries across the globe, including the United States, Canada, and New Zealand. This is a story of Polish ambition, family values, and relentless dedication to excellence.

The heart of Oknoplast’s operations is its state-of-the-art manufacturing complex in Ochmanów, located in an enterprise zone near Kraków. This massive 32,000-square-meter facility is a testament to the company's commitment to advanced technology and manufacturing prowess. It is here that a dedicated workforce of over 3,200 employees contributes to the production of an astounding 2.3 million windows per year. The factory is a hub of innovation, featuring highly automated production lines, in-house glass manufacturing capabilities (since 2012), and specialized departments for aluminum joinery and roller shutters. This vertical integration allows for unparalleled quality control and the flexibility to create customized solutions for diverse international markets.

A Legacy of Innovation and Growth

From its inception, Oknoplast has been driven by a passion for innovation. The company holds over 60 patents, a clear indicator of its role as a trendsetter in the industry. This spirit of ingenuity is not just about products; it’s about a holistic approach to business. In 2005, Oknoplast embarked on an ambitious export strategy that has seen it establish a network of over 3,500 dealers and 1,450 showrooms worldwide. This structured and organized distribution system has been the engine of the company’s perpetual growth, enabling it to become the leading uPVC window manufacturer in Europe by 2009.

The OKNOPLAST GROUP’s strength lies in its diverse portfolio of brands, each catering to a specific market segment. The flagship **OKNOPLAST** brand continues to lead in premium PVC joinery. **ALUHAUS**, established in 1998, specializes in high-end aluminum systems. The **WnD** brand, created in 2012, serves the economic segment with high-quality, affordable solutions. Recent acquisitions and brand launches, such as the Spanish premium brand **HERMET 10** (2020), **SKYVI** for aluminum pergolas (2022), and the Austrian wooden joinery expert **HRACHOWINA** (2024), demonstrate a clear strategy of diversification and market leadership. This multi-brand approach allows the Group to offer a comprehensive range of products, from windows and doors to roller shutters, garage doors, and architectural glass, all manufactured with the same commitment to quality.

A Commitment to Quality, Sustainability, and People

Quality is the cornerstone of the Oknoplast philosophy. The company’s products are certified by numerous European and American institutes, and it maintains a close partnership with leading German component supplier VEKA. This ensures that every window, door, and component leaving the Ochmanów factory meets the highest standards of performance, durability, and energy efficiency. Sustainability is also a key focus. Oknoplast employs a closed-loop production cycle for its PVC profiles, where waste is reused, making it one of the most environmentally friendly materials in the industry. This commitment to a greener future is woven into the fabric of the company’s operations.

At its core, Oknoplast remains a family-owned company, founded by Adam Placek and now led by CEO Mikołaj Placek. This foundation instills a unique culture of long-term vision, employee loyalty, and a deep-seated pride in the products they create. The company’s success is a direct result of the skill and dedication of its workforce. From the engineers designing the next generation of window technology to the machine operators on the factory floor, every employee plays a crucial role in maintaining Oknoplast’s reputation for excellence. We are not just manufacturing windows; we are building a legacy of Polish industrial success on a global scale.
